A Year in Reflection

One year ago today, Sunday, June 4, 2017, we were awakened around 2AM by phone calls and texts that our church was on fire. We were shocked to learn from a picture that was sent to us that not only was the church on fire- it was engulfed in flames to the point of no return. With adrenaline flowing, we made our way to the church only to be amazed at how bad it really was. Due in part to a power line that was down, the fire department was unable to extinguish the fire before it was a total loss.

While this event was extremely devastating, we were both humbled and amazed at the immediate support that was shown by so many individuals. Some churches even took offerings towards the rebuilding of the church that very morning. That afternoon as we surveyed the damage the street was busy with many members of the community driving by to survey the damage and express their sadness over the loss of the church.

Throughout this past year much has happened toward the rebuilding of the church thanks to many volunteers and generous donors. God has opened so many doors and worked out details such as providing a place to worship until the church is completed.
The children's visualized songs, song books, and Bibles that were donated have been indispensable. Thank You!

Thank You to all who helped with the footer!

Thank You for the donation of church pews!

Thank You to all those who helped put up the walls of the church!

We had an awesome roofing crew.
Thank You!

So thankful for the most recent step of putting in foam insulation.

Today we have a church with walls, a roof, and insulation. God has brought us a long way in the past year and once again we thank everyone involved for their support and prayers. Although having a church building is crucial to our ministry, buildings and finances are not really what our ministry is about. While our church has been in a time of uncertainty and waiting, our ministry to precious souls continues.

The good group we had in church yesterday.

The next year lies ahead of us with endless possibilities and much work yet to be done before we can begin to worship in our new building. We ask that you continue to stand behind us in our ministry to the Native Americans in St. Francis, SD.
